We've been penny-pinching to save part of the husband's starting bonus and part of our IRS refund for a vacation this August, a week or two after he finishes the Bar. We would like to just veg out for a week, as opposed to our usual road-trip vacations. During our trip to California it became painfully obvious that Schmoop can't adjust as easily (or quietly) to driving to three or four different locations with different beds, amenities, etc. It was too much for him, even though he was a real trooper when we went to Maine last August.
For this vacation, we want an all-inclusive (or mostly inclusive) resort that caters to families. We don't want to be snarled at by honeymooners and childless couples. Please let me know if you have any recommendations or reviews.
Here are the places that have been recommended to me so far:
Breezes (I can get 50% discount from work but have read mixed reviews)
Casa de Campo
Club Med Punta Cana
Starfish Trewlany (I can get 50% discount from work but have read mixed reviews)
Franklyn D. Resort ("As featured on 'Oprah'")
Holiday Inn Sunspree Rose Hall
Turks and Caicos
