Today is either the start of 39 weeks or 38 weeks (depends on whether you go by my dates or an U/S). Either way, I want out. The kids' furniture arrived today, and I finally feel like we're basically ready for the Schmoopette to arrive. I kinda thought the baby would come on election day, but oh well! My mom's friend (a man she has known for more than 50 years) came by to make sure the delivery guys put everything together correctly. It was such a blessing to have someone else around, because I couldn't move anything around myself. Thank God for old family friends!
The Schmoop turns 33 months today, so it would be cool to have the Schmoopette in the next few hours, so I could have two babies born on the 3rd. But let's face it, it's already 5:45PM, so the chances are pretty slim. Of course, second babies *are* supposed to be faster deliveries, and my first one was rather quick and uncomplicated.
I don't think I shared with all of you that the final karyotyping finally came in last week. The baby has perfectly normal chromosomes. The sono still shows the ventriculomegaly (mild fluid in the left ventricle of the brain), but it is stable and hasn't grown. That's all good news. I have one more sono on Friday, and then the baby will probably have to get a scan some time within her first couple of months. As long as the amount of fluid doesn't grow, we're in the clear.
