Identity is such a complicated thing, isn't it?


It's interesting that you're getting these reactions, particularly in NYC. Do you think it's just an older generation? Because even in the midwest where I am, it's pretty unusual for folks to remark on a "multicultural-looking" child. But I live in an area with a high Hispanic population and a growing African-American population, and being around a university necessarily means a lot of diversity (well, usually).
